A pesar de que el comercio electrónico es el futuro, los grandes de la tecnología no están dispuestos a dejar de lado la suculenta porción del pastel de los negocios que suponen todavía, a día de hoy, los establecimientos físicos. Así, las tiendas especializadas en productos de una misma marca están extendiéndose entre nosotros, irrupciones que responden a varios objetivos, más allá de las cuestiones meramente de tipo estético.
Así, la apuesta de las grandes compañías tecnológicas es un hecho, y si bien estas buscan atraer la atención de los consumidores, no es menos cierto que su interés también es generar una imagen de marca acorde a sus expectativas. Apple lleva aplicando este concepto hace tiempo y los resultados no le han podido ir mejor, dado que sus establecimientos se han erigido casi como rutas de peregrinaje de sus seguidores.
Es por ello que no debería extrañarnos que Google haya sido la ultima compañía en materializar esta idea de negocio, a través de la apertura de una tienda física en Londres. La compañía sigue la estela de Apple pero no es la única en reproducir este esquema. El gran competidor de esta, Samsung, ha desarrollado una línea de tiendas físicas en centros comerciales, donde los mostradores posan relucientes sus productos. De la misma manera, Microsoft lleva en las calles desde el 2009, generando un buen resultado en ventas.
La primera tienda de Google se sitúa en Tottenhan Court Road, una zona de la ciudad muy popular por contar con algunas de las tiendas tecnológicas más importantes de la ciudad.
¿Qué busca Google con este experimento? En primer lugar, focalizar sus esfuerzos hacia los usuarios. Basta con echar una mirada al establecimiento para darnos cuenta de que este es el centro de atención del espacio. Para ello, la compañía no ha escatimado en invertir en pantallas gigantes y en ofrecerle la posibilidad de probar un amplio catálogo de productos de Google.
Entre los productos que puedes encontrar se encuentran, las tablets y dispositivos con sistema operativo Android que posee, así como Chromebooks. Del mismo modo, Google ya ha avanzado que esta tienda permitirá que los usuarios muestren sus habilidades artísticas. No era para menos, la cuestión es saber cómo lo van a hacer. Así, la tienda cuenta con una pared, denominada Doodle, en la que los clientes pueden utilizar botes de spray digital.
Como no podía ser de otra manera, siendo el foco de interés reciente la tecnología wearable, esta tienda permite a los usuarios probar distintos modelos de smartwatches.
